I wanted to try painting some water ripples so I thought it would be fun to paint a cat drinking from a whimsical, magical kitchen forest faucet.

I worked on developing the foliage around the painting.

I spent a lot of time working on the water ripples using various colors and values. I think the cat’s paw in the water really helped give it depth.

I still need to give kitty some stripes and whiskers. I have read that all orange cats have stripes. I will frame it soon and I am going to submit it to the Zone 4 All show coming up at New Zone Gallery along with some cards and prints.
