I have been working on a series of farm animals and for my first painting I wanted to paint some cows. I read that cows enjoy fruit and hanging out with their cow friends, so I painted a scene where some cows gathered some fruit from the fruit trees and decided to have a whimsical picnic together.

I used watercolor on watercolor paper. I used a larger size than I usually do because I have problems fitting two characters on smaller paper.

The painting took me longer than I would have liked to finish it, since the paper was larger than I’m used to working with, but I was able to add a lot of details and it was still fun to paint.

I intend to paint some pigs, sheep, chickens, and bunnies to complete the series.
